Citibank Report on the Most Promising Emerging Markets

In February 2011: Citigroup analysts Willem Buiter (Chief Economist) and Ebrahim Rahbari stated that Egypt is predicted to be the 10th largest economy worldwide by 2050.

Citibank also expects Egypt to emerge as its third best economy in terms of economic growth behind only Bangladesh & China. “We expect a steadily rising growth rate for the next 40 years, averaging 5% per annum between 2010 and 2050”.
